Using the Room mic with Google Meet
Simple overview.
Make sure Google Chrome is not running. Be sure to Quit the application don’t just close the window.
Plug the microphone into one of the 4 USB slots in the back of the mac mini attached to the smartboard.
Open Google Chrome AFTER the microphone has been plugged in.
If Google Meets ask for permission to use the Microphone and Camera click Allow.
Troubleshooting

Make sure that Meets has the right Microphone and Speaker selected.
Open System Preferences
Open Sound
Select the Input tab to see what Microphone is selected
Select the Output tab to see what speakers are selected
Leave the Sound Menu open
Open Settings in Google Meets
Bring up the Menu Bar for Google Meet, you can do this by moving the mouse over the bottom of the Google Meet window.
Select the three vertical dots on the right side of the screen to bring up the options menu and select Settings.
Compare the Mic and Speaker setting in google chrome and make sure they are the same as listed in System Preferences.

This photo shows the Google Meets Setting on the left and the System Preferences Sound setting on the right. Note that the Input tab is selected (Blue) in System Preferences. Make sure that the Microphone being used by both applications is the same one.
This Photo is the same as above except that the Output Tab is selected in the system preferences Sound tab. Make sure that the Google Meets Speakers is the same as the System Preferences Output device.
